Braids

Last week I was feeling inspired by the braids from the Alex Wang show and the braid Blake Lively sported during the Emmy's.

Sam Haskins x Tommy Hilfiger

Last Thursday Julia of Modelizing.com and I ventured over to the Sam Haskins Fashion Etcetera exhibit opening at MILK Studios which was hosted by Tommy Hilfiger. I think Julia had a fun time snapping up photos of different celebrities! It as fun watching her hop around the gallery. I, on the other hand, had a good time chatting it up with new friends!

Sadly, no photos of me. I wasn't cool enough to have my photo taken :)

One love. One heart.

Art Under the Bridge - DUMBO Arts Festival

Yesterday I ventured into DUMBO to attend the Art Under the Bridge Festival. Sadly, I didn't see anything revolutionary, but there were a few fun exhibits. I took absolutely shitty photographs of the things that caught my attention.

I really enjoyed Liz Surbeck Biddle's Encounters exhibit at 111 Front Street. While it sort of looked like an Anthropologie window display threw up in a gallery space, I still liked it. I'm a sucker for all things whimsical and pink.

This "interactive" piece was just too cute to not shoot. Look at how much fun those little munchinks are having! If I were young enough to play in that space, I would have probably been chucking those letters at my siblings. I was a fiesty one at that age.

This totally reminded me of when I used to go camping with my family. We would drive to a state park in northern Minnesota, set up camp, then drive to a gas station to pick up some fire wood, which was stacked like the rolled up cardboard pieces above. I'm really feeling the nostalgia here.

All-in-all, the festival was a good time. The weather was perfect (sunny with a bit of chill in the air) and it was a great excuse to get out of the house. If you nothing to do this afternoon, I would recommend checking it out.

Fashion's Night Out x Opening Ceremony

I'm late to posting these pictures from Fashion's Night Out at Opening Ceremony. It was certainly a night to remember. Mad props to Anna for the super successful night!

A Year in Review

This time last year I was feeling pretty ballsy and hopped on a one-way plane. MSP>JFK. I didn’t really know anyone here and I didn’t know what to expect; but I’ll sure as hell never forget my first day in the big apple. The second I saw girls stomping down 14th St. as if they had just finished strutting down the runway, I knew this place was meant for kids like me.

From that moment on things never slowed down. Looking back on this past year I can’t believe how much I’ve experienced and accomplished. From the photo shoots and late nights at Lit to interning and finding my first “real” job, I have certainly learned a lot.

So instead of blabbering on like an idiot, I’ve decided to share my past year in photos. All of my blood, sweat and tears have definitely paid off.

My first weekend in the city.

Late nights screwing around in Times Square eating Cheezits.

Sunday's in Central Park.

MAC + Hello Kitty x V Magazine party.

This year I met one of my new friends for life, Bianca. I knew it was fate when we showed up to the party at the Bowery Hotel last fashion week in the same vintage dress!

This photo was taken at the Tommy Hilfiger x Paper Magazine party this past winter.

My fabulous Birthday party this year was at Sweetie Pie in the West Village.

Fendi x Vogue party at the Fendi store uptown.

Without my lovely coworkers, I wouldn't be alive. No lie. They have kept me afloat!

All in all, it has been a pretty amazing year. Thanks to everyone who has been apart of it!
